Chairman of the Ogun state APC, Chief Derin Adebiyi has dismissed speculation that the party’s state executive committee could be dissolved by the national working committee for alleged anti-party activities.
Adebiyi speaking at an APC stakeholders meeting last Monday at the presidential lodge annexe in Abeokuta, said the national working committee could not sack him or dissolve the state executive committee he is heading.
The APC chairman who is suspected to be loyal to Governor Ibikunle Amosun himself and members of the state executive committee were elected by APC members in Ogun state, and not the national working committee.
The APC chairman also told the stakeholders meeting which had the governor and APM State Governorship Candidate, Abdulkabir Akinlade in attendance, that the national working committee once told him that the name of Prince Dapo Abiodun will be substituted with that of Akinlade as the APC state governor.
Adebiyi, however, explained that the promise was never kept, adding that his committee will circulate the correspondence it had with the national working committee on the issue to APC leaders at the wards and local government levels.
