Ogun almost free of HIV/AIDS – Health Commissioner

Ogun worried over high rate of untreated tuberculosis cases

Ogun state government has stated that the state is almost free of HIV/AIDS.

Health commissioner, Doctor Babatunde Ipaye, said over 90 per cent of residents in the state are now HIV free.

Ipaye, who made this known in an interview in Abeokuta, to mark the 2017 World Aids Day, asked people in the state to go for a test, to determine if they have the virus, to prevent the transmission of the disease and early death.

The commissioner explained that women of childbearing age, especially the expectant mothers, who are infected, have been linked to over 100 healthcare centres in the state, to receive the best treatment in Nigeria.
