Former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has met with some of the leaders of the Ogun West senatorial district Of Ogun State, on the state’s 2017 governorship poll.
After the meeting, Obasanjo said, “I have told the chairman that I was in the PDP before but not now. ‘God forbid, se when dog vomits, it will go back to eat its vomit, no.’
“I have said no partisan politics for me again, but Nigeria is my passion until death do us a part. And anything that concerns Nigeria, the good of Nigeria, you’ll see my involvement.
“So, the chairman has come to greet me and I greet am, and now that we have greeted ourselves, the chairman will be going, you gentlemen and ladies of the press, you can now go, leave the chairman alone.”
Those at the meeting held behind the closed door with Obasanjo at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, included former Ogun State’s Head of Service, Deacon Poju Adeyemi, Professor Anthony Asiwaju and the district’s APC chairman, Bashir Fadairo.
One of the leaders who spoke to Rockcity FM after the meeting, said they came to see Obasanjo as part of the agenda of Yewa to produce the next Ogun State’s governor.
Obasanjo is a major advocate of the rotation of the state governorship to the Yewa axis in the interest of justice and equity.
