Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has charged both Federal and State governments, as well as major stakeholders, to find an urgent solution to the mass killings in the country.
Obasanjo says there must be a root cause of the killings, which must be detected and tackled, in order to stop further mass killings of people across the country.
The former President spoke on the issue during a condolence visit to Governor Simon Lalong over the weekend’s killing of about 86 people by herdsmen in Plateau state.
Obasanjo says there must be remote and immediate causes of the ongoing killings which must be looked into with a sense of urgency.
He recalls that killings also took place during his administration, but says the magnitude of killings at the moment is high.
