Ibadan-based club, 3SC FC, have been relegated from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after Wikki Tourists defeated Gombe United 2-0.
The Oluyole Warriors now complete the relegated quartet from the NPFL to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Already Remo Stars (29 points), Gombe United (43 points) and ABS FC (49 points) all returned to the lower division after making an appearance in the just-concluded season.
On the final day of the NPFL season, 3SC suffered a 2-0 loss to Niger Tornadoes and had to rely on results elsewhere to stay in the elite division and especially from Gombe United versus Wikki Tourists.
The Gombe United versus Wikki game was abandoned due to crowd trouble after the home team conceded through Chigozie Maurice‘s own goal on 23 minutes.
The League Management Company (LMC) then sanctioned Gombe United for the breach of league rules that included a two-season ban on their Pantami Stadium and N7 million and ordered that the abandoned game resume from the point of discontinuation with the same scoreline at a neutral venue, the El-Kanemi Sports Complex, Maiduguri.
