NPFL: Rivers United shocks Wikki Tourists, Ikorodu United Loses to Pillars

Rivers United have lost by a late goal to home team Wikki tourists despite a brave display.

United have now slipped to second on the NPFL standings with 56 points with two rounds matches to be played.

Wikki are now in third place with 54 points.

Ikorodu United confirmed their demotion to the second-tier Nigeria national league (NNL) Sunday after they lost 1-0 at Plateau United.

Expelled Giwa FC have already been condemned to life in the lower division and two other clubs will be relegated with Akwa United, Niger Tornadoes, Shooting Stars not safe, while Heartland, Abia Warriors, Warri Wolves and MFM FC are more in danger.

Next weekend, they welcome champions-in-waiting Enugu rangers in Abeokuta.
