Super Eagles midfielder, Nosa Igiebor, has joined lists of Nigerian players who ply their trade in the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States.
Igiebor left the Turkish Super League side, Rizespor to pitch his tents with Vancouver Whitecaps.
He was signed for the remainder of 2017 season with the option of extending for the 2018 and 2019 season
Igiebor has made 300 professional appearances, including 28 in the La Liga, 21 in the Europa League, and 4 in the Champions League.
In addition to his club experience, Igiebor has made 15 appearances with the Nigerian national team.
Whitecaps are currently fourth in the 11-team Western Conference table, and the club’s coach, Carl Robinson believes the new arrival will help them further climb the log.
“When you have an opportunity to bring in a player with this pedigree, you take it. Nosa adds competition for places in our midfield, which will only help strengthen our group.
“Nosa is a box-to-box midfielder who brings a lot of experience having played in some of the top leagues in the world,” Robinson said about Igiebor, who has joined for the remainder of 2017 and has the option to extend his contract with the Canada-based club for the 2018/19 season.
