Northern State Governors have warned that the growing armed banditry in the region is gradually graduating into an insurgency like Boko Haram.
The bandits, according to the Governors, are taking advantage of the vast forest in the region, which spread into neighbouring countries.
Governor Aminu Maisari of Katsina State, raises the security issue while addressing the State House Correspondents after the meeting of the Governors with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Maisari explains that the armed bandits started as cattle rustlers in North West and parts of North Central regions is transforming into a major security threat.
He says that Northern Governors asks Buhari, to consider more drastic measures against the armed bandits.
