The chapters of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the north’s 19 states say they are still in the association and have not pulled out.
Two major Christian organizations in the North, concerned Christian Association of Nigeria and the Northern Nigerian Christians had announced their pull out of CAN, alleging the manipulation of the emergence of Reverend Supo Ayokunle as the new CAN President.
The two associations at a news conference in Jos, said they were reverting back to the Northern Nigeria Christian Association.
But Financial Secretary of North Chapter of CAN, Reverend Sunday Ibrahim, confirmed that the 19 state chapters in the north lodged complaints to the national headquarters of can about certain developments in the association and called for redress.
He, however, said the North CAN has never considered pulling out of CAN like the two North’s religious organizations.
