No provision for proposed new wage in approved 2018 budget bill

The 2018 appropriation bill just passed by the national assembly has not voted for the proposed national minimum wage.

Senate Appropriation Committee Chairman, Danjuma Goje, made this known while briefing newsmen, shortly after the passage of the bill by the senate.

Goje blames the development largely the development on the inconclusion of the negotiating on the new wage by the tripartite committee on the national minimum wage.

He explained that the National Assembly will consider the approved new wage if brought by the Presidency in form of a supplementary 2018 Appropriation bill.
