NNPC says no plan to raise petrol price

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says there is no plan to increase the pump price of petrol.

The corporation group General Managing Director, Maikanti Bello, gave the assurance while speaking to the State House Correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Dismissing report that the scarcity for foreign exchange may force marketers to raise the price of petrol, Bello said there was no basis for a fresh increase in the pump price.

He said the request of marketers for foreign exchange for petrol import has been met, while NNPC is constantly meeting its supply to the market from its 1.4 billion litre stock.
