Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has asked the presidency for clarification on its proposed selective wage review for workers on its payroll.
The Congress General Secretary, Dr Peter Ozo-Esan, said the Presidency should not confuse workers on its proposed wage review.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo recently said the Presidency wants to raise the wages, especially bonuses of certain government agencies, instead of increased wage accross the board.
The NLC scribe, however, cautioned that the issue of wage review is a matter of collective agreement, advising the presidency that any wage review should be done through the framework of collective bargaining.
Already, the organized labour is expecting the Presidency to constitute a national minimum wage committee to negotiate a new wage.
