Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has asked Ogun State Governor Elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to be ready to clear the huge debts he will inherit from the Amosun administration on May 29.
The debts, according to Ogun State NLC, include 118 months contributory pension, unpaid gratuity since 2013, leave bonus from 2016 and the 2018 promotion arrears of core civil servants.
Others are leave bonus, promotion arrears, union check off dues, as well as, co-operative deductions from salaries, 118 month contributory pension, and unpaid gratuity since 2012 of Local Government workers.
State NLC Chairman, Emmanuel Bankole, who made this known while addressing newsmen in Abeokuta, also told the Governor Elect that he will be inheriting over n639 million salary arrears of staff of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, and over n2 billion salaries arrears of staff of Tai Solarin University of Education.
Others are the over n6 billion salaries arrears to staff of the Tai Solarin College of Education, over n152 million salaries arrears of staff of the Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Bankole asks the Governor Elect to fulfill his promises of clearing the arrears of salaries, leave bonus, contributory pension, gratuity, check-off dues and subventions among others.
The workers in the State, according to him, have decided to leave Amosun to God and his conscience to judge him, on how he treated workers throughout his eight years tenure.
The NLC Chairman also cautions the Governor-Elect on the caliber of people he should consider in constituting his cabinet.
