NJC sacks Abia CJ, another Judge

National Judicial Council

National Judicial Council has recommended the compulsory retirement of two judges for judicial misconduct.

The judges, included the Abia State Chief Judge, Justice Theresa Uzokwe, and Justice Obisike Orji of Abia State High Court.

The council in a statement by its Director of Information, Mr. Soji Oye, said the recommendation sent to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, followed an investigation of a petition from the state attorney general, Ume Kalu.

The council also warned Justice S. Aladetoyinbo of a Federal High Court, Abuja, and Justice Oluwole Williams of a Lagos High Court for judicial misconduct.

It also set up a committee to investigate a petition filed against a Supreme Court justice.
