National Judicial Council retires two judges, sacks another

National Judicial Council

National Judicial Council has recommended the retirement of a court of appeal judge and the Enugu State Chief Judge, and the dismissal of a High Court Judge for official misconduct.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the council during the week in Abuja.

The court of appeal Judge, Justice Mohammed Tsamiya, was indicted for allegedly collecting bribe in the 2015 polls petition, while the Enugu state chief judge, Justice I. Umezulike was asked to go for acts regarded to be in conflict with his job.

The third judge, justice Kabitu Auta of Kano High Court is indicted for collecting money from a contractor.
