Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET)

Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has predicted that rainfall will start late and end soon this year in most parts of the country.

The agency in its seasonal 2019 rainfall prediction, said the onset of rainfall is expected from March 7 in the coastal region in the South South and June 16 in the far north.

It is expected to end September 29 in the far north, and late December in the coastal states in the South South region.

The Agency’s Director General, Professor Sani Mashi, asked farmers to delay planting crops to avoid planting twice.

Mashi predicts that food yields will be poor this year.
