Nigerian navy and French warships are to conduct joint military exercise in the gulf of guinea.
The exercise taking off on Tuesday, and ending on Friday, involves the navies of Gabon, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Togo and Ghana.
Spokesman of the Nigerian Navy, Commodore Chimas Ezekobe, said the naval manoeuvre aims at fighting illegal fishing, piracy and testing joint operation capability of the participating navies.
One of Nigerian Navy’s frigates, NNS Okpabana is participating in the naval exercise.
