Workers in NIGERIA’S beverage sector are complaining that robots are posing threats to their jobs.
Workers under the Aegis of the National Union of Food Beverage and Tobacco Employees (NUFBTE), says the use of robots in factories, is now taking over their jobs.
They expressed worry that the situation has become a huge challenge for the union, as it has cost them to lose over 3,000 of their members due to retrenchment.
Describing the situation as a big loss to the union, NUFBTE President, Lateef Oyelekan, says to sustain the group through its diversification agenda, it is expanding its business frontiers with over n200 million investments.
