Nigerians are spending five trillion and seven trillion naira or $14 billion yearly on the purchase of petrol and diesel powered generators.
Senior director of African development bank for Nigeria, Ebrima FAAL, made this known in a statement on the bank’s $210 million financial package for Nigeria transmission expansion Programme.
FAAL who expresses concern over the high bill of generators, says it is inefficient and expensive form of energy.
Generator powered electricity, according to him, is contributing to the high costs of doing business in Nigeria and noise pollution.
