Nigeria’s Olympic team finally get part of allowances

Nigeria’s Olympic team has been paid part of their allowances, ahead of tonight’s Rio Olympics game against Colombia in Sao Paulo.

The payment was done on Tuesday night, following threat by the players to boycott the match.

The Coach Samson Siasia-led team had threatened to stay away from the game if they were not paid.

Officials said the Nigeria Olympic Committee paid each player $1650 being allowances to cover 11 days.
