New Wage: Labour Directs Ogun Affliates To Set For Possible Strike

The organized labour in Ogun State has threatened to mobilize workers for a strike to compel state government to open negotiations with it on the implementation of the new national minimum wage

Chairman of the State unit of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Emmanuel Bankole, made this known to Rockcity FM, after a meeting of the leaders of labour unions in the state, Monday night in Abeokuta

Bankole says all the affiliated unions of the congress had been directed to start mobilizing workers for a possible strike

He explains that labour will stick to its position that the negotiations on the new wage with the state government must end on December 31

The NLC chairman says they are awaiting final directive from a crucial meeting on the issue that will hold this week, at the NLC Headquaters in Abuja

The organized labour had been complaining that the state government had refused to acknowledge the letters written to it to constitute a committee to negotiate the new wage for implementation.
