The new Ogun State Police Commissioner, Edgal Imohinmi, has directed all police officers serving in the state to return back to their original duty posts from wherever they are now posted to.
Imohinmi, who resumed duty on Monday, at the state command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, also cancelled all forms of police leaves, except in emergency cases.
The new Police Commissioner, calling for strict compliance with his directive, says there will be a physical headcount of policemen and officers in the state command.
He explained that the directive aimed at mobilizing all policemen and officers in the command to check the activities of hoodlums during the ember months and yuletide season.
Imohinmi, according to the command spokesman, Abimbola oyeyemi, said he would deepen and institutionalize the strategy of community policing and community safety partnership to reduce crimes in the state.
The new police commissioner was redeployed from Lagos state to replace Bashir Makama, who has been promoted to the rank of assistant inspector general of police.
