New wage: Technical committee finalizes work on report

The national public hearing on the proposed review of the national minimum wage will begin nationwide on Thursday.

The public hearing organized by the tripartite committee on national minimum wage, will hold at a designated centre in Enugu, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Gombe, Kaduna and Lokoja.

The public hearing will also hold at special designated area in Lagos and Abuja.

Media director in the Labour and productivity ministry, Samuel Olowookere, asked interested members of the public to come to the designated venues with copies of their memorandum.

The organised labour, which is a member of the tripartite committee is demanding an upward review of the current N18,000 national minimum wage to N66,500.

Other members of the committee are the organized private sector, federal and state governments.
