Governor Ibikunle Amosun has asked Ogun state judiciary to ensure good administration of justice in the 2016/2017 legal year.
Amosun making the call at the special church service ushering in the state 2016/2017 legal year at the Cathedral of Saint Peter Ake Abeokuta, said the service provides avenue for the judiciary to review its legal disposition in the previous year and address some of its flaws and improve service delivery.
Amosun represented by Deputy Governor Yetunde Onanuga said the success of any democracy is embedded in the proactive and incorruptible judiciary.
The state Chief Judge, Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, speaking to newsmen after the ceremony assured that the judiciary will continue to dispense justice according to the tenets of the law.
Also, Justice Commissioner, Doctor Olumide Ayemi said the state government has strengthened the lower courts for the quick dispensation of justice and new criminal administration.
The event was also attended by the Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Oladele Adekoya who represented the Awujale of Ijebuland,Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraj Adekunbi, the wife of former President Obasanjo, Mrs Bola Obasanjo, representatives of military and para military and traditional rulers.
