Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Torungbuwa the second, has been inaugurated as the new Akarigbo and the paramount ruler of Remoland, in Ogun State.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun presented the staff of office to the nineteenth Akarigbo, at a colourful ceremony, attended by dignitaries, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu.
Other dignitaries at the historic event, included the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, the Awujale of Ijebuland, represented by the Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Yunusa Adekoya; the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, and the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso.
The governor said his administration will require the support of the new monarch, to address the security challenges in Ogijo and the surrounding communities in the Sagamu axis of the state.
Amosun is happy that other contestants from Torungbuwa ruling house, displayed the spirit of sportsmanship by not challenging the selection of the new Akarigbo in court.
Also, the vice president enjoined the people of Remoland to rally round the new Oba, so as to take the region to a greater height.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Ajayi promised to work with the state government to continue the development the business potentials of the area.
