NDLEA seizes over 2,000 kilogrammes of drugs in Ogun State within six months

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said its operatives seized 1,820.74 kilogrammes of Indian Hemp in Ogun State between January and June this year.

Also seized during the six month period, were 51.58 kilogrammes of tramadol capsules, 155.70 kilogrammes of codeine, one point five kilogrammes of Diazapam and 423 grammes of Raphanol.

The statistics provided by the Ogun State command of NDLEA to Rockcity Fm News, also shows that 70 suspects including 60 male and 10 female were arrested for drug related offences, during the same period.

During the period, the Anti-narcotic agency also secured convictions of 19 persons, while 15 pending cases are at various stages before the federal high court, Abeokuta and another three cases at the appeal court in Ibadan.

Aside the number of cases in court, NDLEA said 14 drug abused persons were counselled on the danger of hard drugs,

Also, NDLEA said it organized six   anti-drug abuse workshops during the period under review.
