NDLEA intercepts N1.7bn drug

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has intercepted a huge consignment of methamphetamine valued at N1.7 billion in Anambra state.

The seizure in Awka, the state capital was made from a suspected drug trafficker, Vincent Chidiebere, who was allegedly arrested with the drug weighing 25.2 kilogramme.

The state NDLEA Commander, Sule Momodu, who made this known at a news conference in Onitsha, said the agency operatives intercepted the drug after a tip off of its movement from Enugu through Anambra to Lagos.

The NDLEA Commander said they had also discovered methamphetamine laboratories in Nanka, Ozubulu and Obosi in the state.
