NDLEA detects N1.9 billion cocaine inside footwear

NDLEA discovers cocaine in the sole of shoes at Enugu

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted substance suspected to be cocaine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport in Abuja.

The drug weighing 9.15 kilogramme was industrially concealed in the sole of new foot wears.

The airport NDLEA commander, Hamisu Lawan, puts the street value of the seized drug at £3.8 million pound (approximately N1.9 billion).

The NDLEA commander said the suspect identified as Okolo Kingsley from Enugu state was arrested during the inward screening of passengers from a Turkish airline from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
