NDLEA arrests 8,000 suspects in 2015

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it arrested almost 8,000 suspected drug traffickers in the year 2015.

The Agency Chairman, Retired Colonel Mohammed Mustapha, who made this known at a forum held in Lagos, to mark the 2016 International Day Against Drug Abuse, said those arrested include 635 females.

He said drugs weighing 903,624.6 kilogrammes were seized during the period, including 871,480.3 kilogrammes, of cannabis, and 260.4 kilogrammes of cocaine, as well as 30 kilogrammes of heroin.
