National Convention: Fayose considers leaving PDP

Ekiti proposes death penalty for convicted cultists

Outgoing Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state said he may leave PDP following the outcome of the party’s national convention which produced former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the winner.

Fayose speaking to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, accuses some party members of attempting to hijack the PDP structure, adding he may quit the party anytime from now after consulting widely.

He said such forces attempt to side-line him and others for supporting Governor Aminu Tambuwal for the PDP ticket at the convention.

The governor said he has no regret for backing Tambuwal and will continue consultations while watching events as they unfold in PDP.
