Meanwhile, a joint committee of the National Assembly has cut N45 billion from N189 billion budget of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the conduct of the 2019 polls.
The joint committee on electoral matters announced the cut in the budget, after another round of meeting with INEC top officials on Monday, in Abuja.
The Committee Spokesman, Suleiman Nasif, told newsmen after the meeting, that they resolved that INEC should revert to the first budget of N143 billion, it submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari last July.
INEC, according to him, is expected to priotize its expenditure schedule on N143 billion instead of N189 billion.
Buhari in his letter to the national assembly had called for the consideration of N143 billion for INEC due to financial problems, adding that the remaining N45 billion will be included in the 2019 budget.
