Finally, the 2018 appropriation bill has been laid before the House of Representatives and the Senate.
The bill was jerked upward by the joint appropriation committees, which laid the bill at the Tuesday plenary of both chambers.
An insight into the bill shows that the N8.6 trillion bill submitted by President Buhari, last November to a joint session of the National Assembly, has been increased to N9.1 trillion.
The breakdown of the amended bill is as follows: N3.5 trillion for recurrent expenditure and N2.8 trillion for capital expenditure.
Other components of the bill laid before house of reps are N530.4 billion for statutory transfer, N2.2 trillion for debt servicing and N199 billion for sinking fund for maturing loans.
Both the Senate and House of Reps will deliberate on the report of their appropriation committees.
