Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has rejected the proposed amnesty by northern state governors for armed bandits, cattle rustlers and killer herdsmen.
The organization says such people are criminals, and the law should be allowed to take its course.
Bauchi State Chairman of the organization, Sadiq Ahmed, spoke on the issue while answering questions from newsmen, after a stakeholders meeting with the State Police Commissioner in Bauchi.
He warns that amnesty for armed bandits, cattle rustlers and killer herdsmen will encourage more people to join their rank.
Northern state governors had adopted amnesty to reduce the high level of attacks by armed bandits, cattle rustlers and kidnappers, in the region, particularly, the northwest region.
Already, Katsina and Zamfara state government are implementing amnesty for bandits in exchange for abducted victims.
