Motorcycles Snatchers In Police Net

Police have arrested three members of an armed robbery syndicate who specialized in snatching motorcycles at Odogbolu in Ogun State.

The suspects, identified as Ibru Ogbeba, Monday Wewe and Bisoye Odubote, were arrested at Aiyepe near Ososa.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, says their modus operandi is to look for a rider of new motorcycles and pretend as passengers.

He explains that the gang members armed themselves with grinded pepper, screw drivers and spanner, and on getting to an isolated area, they will spray the pepper on the face of the rider, stabbed him with the screw driver and dispossessed him of the motorcycle.

The Police Spokesman says, the suspects were arrested, while attempting to rob one Tanko Abdullahi of his Bajaj motorcycle, marked jbd 375 wz.

He listed items recovered from them as including the snatched motorcycle, grinded pepper, screw driver and spanner.

The State Police Commissioner, Bashir Makama, has ordered the transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), for discreet investigation.
