Military/Police Joint Operations To Tackle Bandits And Kidnappers

Military and Police Headquarters have agreed to set up a joint operation to flush out armed  bandits and other criminals from the North West region and other parts of the country.

Spokesman of Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, says both Police and Military are ready for the operations.

He did not give the details of the planned operations, but says both the Military and Police have identified gaps in their operations and resolved to address them for effective operations.

The DHQ spokesman adds that both Military and Police have also evaluated their efforts against bandits and have taken the next line of action.

Nwachukwu further says the inflow of illegal arms from North Africa and Sahel Africa is fueling attacks by bandits in Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon.
