One of the suspected leaders of the militants who killed four police officers and an Army captain during a shoot-out, after their recent raid on Ishawo community near Ikorodu, is dead.
The suspected militant identified as Endurance Ominisan, died while resisting arrest by the operatives of the Inspector General of Police response team at Ibeshi in Ikorodu axis.
The response team commander, Assistant Commissioner Abba Kyari, explained that they tracked the militant when he came out of the creek, where he had been hiding since the Ishawo attack to his girl friend’s home at 20, Joel Adebolu street.
He said that the militant escaped into the roof of the house and engaged the response team’s officers, who cordoned off the area in a shoot-out.
The militant who was wounded in the process, according to him, was brought down from the roof, and rushed to the General Hospital, Ikorodu, where he died.
Before his death, the Force headquarters spokesman, Jimoh Moshood said the militant allegedly made oral confession that he participated in several major kidnap operation in Ogun and Lagos states.
