MFM FC team bus crash after loss to Plateau United in Ondo

Players and officials of MFM FC have escaped death on Sunday, after their bus had an accident on their way back from a Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) game in Jos, against Plateau United.

The media officer of MFM FC, Olawale Quadri, who confirmed the accident, said the team was safe and sound, after the accident at Akungba, Ondo State.

The Olukoya Boys lost the match day 5 fixtures of the NPFL on Saturday to the Jos outfit by a lone goal, courtesy of a second-minute strike by Tosin Omoyele.

Quadri said, though the bus conveying the team was badly damaged, most of the players escaped unscathed.

On Twitter, the club’s official handle said, “We had a minor road accident on way from Jos along Akungba road in Ondo State this evening. No life was lost, the players and officials of the team are in good condition. The head coach Ilechukwu Fidelis is also in good condition as well.”
