A 35 year old man has appeared before an Abeokuta magistrate court for allegedly trafficking his daughter to Libya.
The suspect, Kazeem Idowu, pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of conspiracy and child trafficking preferred against him.
The prosecutor, Inspector Olu-Balogun Lawrence, told the court that the suspect committed the offence on January 8, 2021.
The suspect, according to the prosecutor, conspired with his friend and trafficked his 15 year old daughter to Libya from his residence at 21, Eruwon Street, Ake, Abeokuta.
The chief magistrate, D.I Dipeolu in his ruling, granted the suspect bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum. The court also adjourned the case till March 3, for hearing.
