Ogun state government says it has reactivated its response and surveillance system to prevent the spread of Lassa Fever to the state from delta and Anambra states.
The state’s epidemiologist, Doctor Oluyomi Bamiselu, who made this known on a Rockcty FM programme “Health Wise”, asked the public not to panic as the state has not recorded any cases of the disease
The epidemiologist said that the state government has sensitized and alerted the medical and health workers, as well as the disease surveillance officers in state on the recent outbreak of the disease in some states in the country.

He asked the residents to maintain good hygiene and ensuring that they protect their foods from rodent.
Bamiselu asked them to report any suspected cases of Lassa Fever to the state health ministry or call the following hotlines: 0909-914-0121, 0909-914-0122.
Last February, two persons were killed in the state during the outbreak of the disease nationwide.
