396 people who had contacts with the deputy chief nursing officer who died from Lassa fever at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, have been tracked by a medical team and placed under surveillance.
Ogun state health commissioner, Doctor Babatunde Ipaye in an interview with Rockcity FM in Abeokuta, said the contacts have been given a thermometer each, to monitor the level of their temperature from time to time.
Also, each of the 396 contacts, according to the commissioner, are attached to surveillance officer for proper monitoring.
The commissioner asked members of the public not to panic, but maintain personal hygiene, and report any suspected cases to the nearest public hospital.
