Lamido of Adamawa urges President Buhari to contest 2019 presidential election

The Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Mohammed Barkindo, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to seek re-election in 2019.

The traditional ruler urged Buhari to ignore those asking him not to join the 2019 presidential race.

The Lamido told Buhari, who paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Yola to remain focused, while asking those criticizing the president to bury their heads in shame for saying he has failed to perform.

“I am calling you to remain focus, stand firm and don’t listen to the empty barrels Nigerian elites who are calling you not to re-contest for 2019 Presidential election.

“They are burying their heads in shame and telling people that Buhari’s led Government has done nothing,” Barkindo noted.

Buhari responding, said he has fulfilled the major promised he made to the electorate during the 2015 presidential campaign, including fighting corruption and insurgency.

The President also said the economy is improving, especially the agriculture sector.
