Lagos exempts senior citizens from paying Land Use Charge

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State

Senior citizens aged 70 years and above, living in their houses, have been exempted by the Lagos State Government from paying Land Use Charge.

Also exempted in the amended 2018 Land Use Charge Act just signed by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode into law, are properties owned by religious and non-profit organizations.

The bill also gives considerable discount on the Land Use Charge on properties owned by physically challenged citizens.

For those who pay their land use charge promptly, the bill makes a provision of discounts for their owners.
