The women leader of the Musa Wada campaign organization of the PDP for the just concluded Kogi state governorship poll, Mrs Acheju Abuh, has been burnt to death in her home.
Suspected hoodlums set the house on fire in OFU, on Monday, following clashes between PDP and APC supporters after the declaration of the poll results in the town.
The woman could not escape from the fire.
Earlier, a PDP supporter had stabbed an APC supporter jubilating over the poll results, who later died after being rushed to a hospital.
Following his death, youths in the town mobilized and attacked the house of the PDP women leader, setting it on fire, amidst sporadic gunshots.
Spokesman of the State Police Command, WIlliam Anya, who confirms the incident, says three other houses were set on fire during the incident.
Mobile Police Force and Police Special Forces, according to him, had been deployed to contain the incident.
