Governor Nyesom wike of Rivers State has said that kidnapping is now a commercial venture in Nigeria.
The Governor says it will be difficult to wipe it out because it has become a major business.
Wike spoke on the issue while receiving the governor of rotary district 9141 Nigeria at the government house in Port-Hacourt.
Reports, according to the governor, show that most of those involved in the crime are youths within ages 16 and 22 years.
The Governor said reducing the menace of kidnapping would require a collaboration of efforts between government and members of the public.
