More troops, mobile Policemen and others are to be deployed to Ekiti State, as part of moves to rid the state of kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorizing communities in the state.
Governor Kayode Fayemi gives this indication during a condolence visit to Oke Orin Ekiti where gunmen killed a traditional hunter, Emmanuel Ilori, while hunting for animals in a forest near the community last Saturday night.
The Governor says they will join security forces on ground and traditional hunters, to provide adequate security in the state.
The Governor chides the state PDP for politicizing the security situation in the state, while assuring people that his administration will not allow anyone from outside to take over any portion of land in the state.
He said non-indigenes wishing to engage in business in the state must respect the culture of the indigenous people and must pursue their interest in line with the laws of the land.
