Kidnapping: Army to deploy Special Force to Kogi State

The Nigerian Army is to deploy a special force is to Kogi State to effectively tackle the rising cases of kidnapping and other crimes in the state.

Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, who made this known during a visit to Governor Yahaya Bello at the Government House in Lokoja, said the Presidency is worried over the recurrent cases of kidnapping and criminality in the state.

Governor Bello said the kidnapping thrive in the state because of the mountainous nature of the state which made it difficult for security forces to dislodge the criminals.

Recently, the force headquarters also deployed Special Forces and helicopter to fight kidnappers and armed bandits in the state.
