The Kashamu faction of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West said it will send delegates to represent the region in the forthcoming national convention of the party, coming up on December 8.
The faction insists it is the authentic PDP executive council in the region, and will take a legal step to enforce court order to that effect against the PDP national caretaker committee.
The faction chairman, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe, made this known, at a news conference held after leading members to visit a PDP national chairmanship aspirant, Chief Bode George, in Lagos.
Makanjuola said the South West PDP executive committee led by Doctor Eddy Olafeso, is an illegal entity, and will be indulging in illegality, if allowed to present delegates to represent the region at the national convention.
He warned that the recent Supreme Court’s ruling which recognized the PDP national caretaker committee as the party’s national executive committee, has not nullified cases on the PDP leadership crisis in the South West region.
