Kano state House of Assembly has passed a Bill giving life pensions to Former Speakers and Deputy Speakers.
The pensions rights of Speakers and Deputy Law of 2018, also provides overseas medical treatment for the two principal officers of the Assembly.
Both former Speakers and Deputy Speakers under the Bill are also entitled to a new vehicle every four years.
The Bill stipulates that their pensions for life will be at par with that of the serving Speaker and Deputy Speaker, if they are not holding any paid elective or selective appointments.
A similar Bill passed by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly a few days ago, was rejected by Governor Seriake Dickson, who refused to give his assent to the Bill.
