Jonathan says no Political Prisoner under his regime

Jonathan defends Dasuki

Former president Goodluck Jonathan has said there was no political prisoner or prisoner of conscience in Nigeria during his six year in office as president.

Jonathan speaking in New York at the annual Merit Award Dinner of Nigeria Lawyers Association of the US, said despite the criticism of his administration, he promoted the freedom of speech and freedom after speech.

Jonathan who also claimed there were no political exiles while he was in office, said nobody was sent to prison because of what he or she wrote about him or his administration.

He said his administration promoted freedom of speech because he acted according to his conscience in all what he did while in office.
