The National Council of State has met in Abuja.
The meeting was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
Others are former president Olusegun Obasanjo, and former heads of state, generals Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalam Abubakar, as well as, four former Chief Justices of Nigeria.
Also at the meeting were the state governors, including Ayodele Fayose, who attended a meeting to be presided over by Buhari for the first time.
Fayose, like others, had a warm handshake with Buhari.
Absent from the meeting were former president Goodluck Jonathan, former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, and the Speaker of House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara.
The Secretary to the Government of Federation, Boss Mustapha, called for a minute of silence in honour of former CJN, Dahiru Musdapher, who died recently.
